Game Changer from Day 1

I participated in the 1-1 training in Koh Tao. Instead of taking the full 3-week course, I enrolled for 11 days and concentrated on macro photography. I gave Alex my list of goals I hoped to achieved during the training, and he planned the dives / classroom work accordingly. A typical day was about 2 hours in the classroom in the morning doing photo review from the day before, and then we headed to the boat for 2 afternoon dives. You can also reverse this and dive in the morning with classroom in the afternoon...all depends on where you want to go v. the dive boat schedule. I spent my evenings on my own reviewing photos and doing some editing for review the next day.

This training was a game changer for me. The techniques and tips Alex showed me on Day 1 drastically improved my work flow underwater, and it only got better from there. He provided real time feedback and ways to improve the shot while underwater, and the lessons continued top-side on the boat and during photo review. Editing tips and equipment education was just as valuable. Alex's depth of knowledge, experience, and teaching technique resulted in me walking away with more knowledge than I imagined when I enrolled.

Don't come to this training hoping you're going to get a high critter count. You won't find that in Koh Tao. However, you will walk away with something much more valuable...increased knowledge on how to get that better shot, and perhaps faster, on your next trip. Anyone that wants to improve their craft should enroll in this training. Workshops (with a group) are great, but nothing beats the dedicated time and tailored feedback you will receive with Alex. I am forever grateful!
