ScubaTribe is a service provider that solicits ratings and reviews on behalf of SCUBA Diving Industry operators and related businesses. It is a service provider in this respect and all information is gathered at the request of those that have contracted our services.


ScubaTribe understands that providing personal and identifying information online involves a great deal of trust and we take that trust very seriously. Our servers and systems are updated regularly to ensure the highest level of security and confidentiality we can reasonably provide. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before entering any personal details into the ScubaTribe website or its affiliated sites.


The information we collect

In General


We receive and store any information you enter on our website or give us in any other way. This includes personal and identifying information such as your first and last name, telephone number, postal and e-mail addresses, user name and password. We may also request information about your diving preferences, experience level, favourite destinations, opinions about certain operators and other information. You can choose not to provide information to us, but in general minimal personal information such as email address and location are required in order to present ratings and reviews on our website. Although you may choose to keep this information anonymous (not published on the ScubaTribe website), ScubaTribe will securely store this information in conjunction with your provided personal details to expedite future interactions with our website. In addition, some information is also required in order for you to ask us a question, engage other users or make use of other services on our site.


Information from Other Sources


We may obtain both personal and non-personal information about you from registered members, affiliated entities, business partners and other independent third-party sources and add it to other information about you. If you have signed up as the owner or manager of a diving business we will send you e-mail messages and at the email address you provide to us in order to keep your account up-to-date, provide notices and reminders as well as for administrative purposes.


With whom we share your information


ScubaTribe may share your information with the following entities:


  • Third-party vendors and Business Partners who provide services or functions on our behalf, including business analytics, customer service, marketing and fraud prevention. Third-party vendors have access to and may collect only the absolute minimum information needed to perform their functions and are not permitted to share or use the information for any other purpose.
  • Referring websites. If you were referred to ScubaTribe from another website, we may share minmimal personal information about you with that referring website. We are not in control of the referring websites use of personal information and you should review the privacy policies of any website that referred you to ScubaTribe.
  • Social Media Services. You can elect to access certain social media websites and services through our site (such as Facebook and Pinterest). When you do so, you are sharing information with those sites, and the information you share will be governed by their privacy policies.

  • If you choose to create a profile on ScubaTribe, certain information in your profile will be publicly viewable and identifiable via your screen name. You will have the ability to view your profile as members of the public will see it. Additionally other ScubaTribe members may contact you by using ScubaTribe as an intermediary; however, ScubaTribe will not share your email address with any other members nor display it publicly on our website.

Other than as set out above, you will be notified when personal information about you will be shared with third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to have us share such information.

We also may share aggregate or anonymous information with third parties, including advertisers and investors. For example, we may tell our advertisers the number of visitors our website receives or the most popular operators. You also can add or update information as well as close your account at any time. As a ScubaTribe member, you can change your e-mail subscription choices at any time on your Profile page. As a ScubaTribe member or a non-member you also will have the opportunity to unsubscribe from promotional messages in any such e-mail we send. Please note that we reserve the right to send you other communications, including service announcements, administrative messages, and other notifications and surveys relating to your ScubaTribe account. These messages will not provide the opportunity for you to opt out of receipt.

Children's privacy
