Mixed feelings about Big Blue

I had a few really great experiences doing fun dives with really awesome dive masters, for example Seanos, Fiona, and Simon. These divemasters went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. But I had a few divemasters that really did not seem to care about giving the "fun divers" a good experience. I had a Divemaster in Training that was actually downright rude to myself and the two other divers in the group, which I thought was unacceptable as he made us feel uncomfortable.

The idea I got was that divers who take courses with Big Blue have a better experience since they get to bond with one instructor and a group of divers. I wish I would've taken the Advanced Course while I was there so I could've been part of a group, but I ended getting up double the dives for the same price by doing fun diving.

I stayed in the free dorms which were not too bad, but the bathroom was disgusting. But that's to be expected of a free dorm room I suppose.

I enjoyed the restaurant at Big Blue and the staff was overall very helpful. The food was usually delicious and the happy hour was good.

I would recommend Big Blue if you'd like to take a dive course.

Once upon a time in BigBlue

This Diving Center is the best one I never seen, great people, great atmosphere, where security and safety is the key word underwater.

Ophelia was my Instructor and she has great sense of teaching and sharing the beauty of diving.

See ya soon.

Excellent!

Booked in for the open water SSI and had the time of our lives! Addy our instructor was so patient, friendly, informative and fun! Everything you could want from an instructor! I was worried and panicky at the beginning with ar of the skills we had to do (like flooding your mask underwater) but she calmed me down and for me through it many times!

Big praise to the Big Blue dive school, we can't wait to get back and do our advanced!!

Awesome!

It is one of my favourite places. I honestly tried to think of a negative to temper the following positive outburst. There is everything here that anybody would need. If you're interested in diving then the Dive instructors and Dive masters are very professional, friendly and approachable. They will teach you loads of things to make you a better diver. They will also lead/take you on amazing fun dives. I never had a bad one to my knowledge. The restaurant has awesome food. The bar has a good atmosphere and is a brilliant place to socialise. There are many options accommodation wise from budget to comfortable luxury. I started of there doing a refresher dive. After doing an advanced course, lots of fun dives and my rescue course I am currently doing my Dive master training. I think thats proof that they are a fantastic operation. I am already counting down the days when I get to return.

One word.... Awesome......

The course was properly manage. The facility was also good, especially the boats. I plan to come back and dive again with Big Blue but the only thing I want is if i could get better rates and dive packages compared to the current offers BB have.

Big blue

Big Blue was possibly my favourite part of travelling. We weren't even going to go diving, but we decided whilst in a cage with a tiger in chaing mai that if we could stroke a tiger we could also dive! And now wish we had allowed more than 4 days on koh tao :( Iain our instructor was fantastic, and actually pretty funny for a Scottish bloke! We had such a great time on the open water course, especially having an underwater running race with scottys team. Billy made us a great video which I secretly watch all the time!

we stayed in the hotel, fantastic value for money and a great location. If you have a little extra money spare definitely worth the hot water and air con! Food at big blue 1 and 2 was great, breakfast in the morning was delicious and so was the bbq salmon.

Visiting big blue is an absolute must if you go to Thailand, couldn't recommend it more. However, make sure you leave enough time to do the advanced course, you will massively regret it if you don't - like us!!! We'll be back soon!

Good courses and small fun dive groups

I've done SSI Open Water + Advanced Adventurer. Open Water is basic, but I liked the emphasis Neil put on safety. Every question about equipment and any doubt, he double checked (something I haven't always heard about other dive schools). In my Open Water, we were with 3 which was nice. Advanced Adventurer we were eventually with 5 which is a bit much, because you have time waiting for others and therefore less time practicing your own exercises (like buoyancy). The fundive was a bit of a surprise as the dive master decided / preferred to go to another dive site (Hin pee wee) instead of the wreck which I signed up for, but the dive was good nevertheless. I would recommend them because it's a good deal for the courses (discount on fun dives + courses if you done a course with them). Dorms are OK. Quiet and relatively clean, but the restaurant isn't very bug and fly free...

Super experience!

Super experience! Thanks Big blue for giving us the opportunity to know the diving and spend our open water in an excellent atmosphere and stunning sites (Japanese garden, chumphon pinnacle, white rock,...). The possibility of having a French instructor is a big plus for a good understanding. Thanks to lily, welcoming, friendly, dynamic instructor and a good pedagogy. We finished our holidays in beauty... Thanks Big blue and thank you Lily.

Great experience

It was overall pretty good. They are well organised and yet personal. There were 2 of us following 1 instructor so everyone is well taken care of. Ophelia is an excellent instructor full of patience and passion.
