Loved Big Blue. Despite it being a large company, accommodation and classes didn't feel that way for me. Thought Guy, our instructor, was very clear and down to Earth, easy to follow and understanding of our concerns/different speeds at which we got accustomed to scuba-diving. I am no expert, but since diving elsewhere it seems that Big Blue are very responsible with their equipment use and maintenance, which is a comfort to know.
My only criticism was that (and maybe I didn't do enough research) although Big Blue offered PADI and SSI certificates, the latter was clearly the favoured option and we were asked which course we wanted to follow once we were already allocated to classes, rather than beforehand (meaning that there was some pressure to agree to undertake the course favoured by the class - generally the cheaper option, SSI). Having said that, nobody thus far has been concerned with my certification type.
I think there is still some opportunity to bring together people around Big Blue a bit more. Classes foster relationships but there are few other occasions to do this.
Air-con rooms were clean and comfortable - with everything in working order.
Will definitely be back. Keen to do some conservation stuff, which is another great aspect of Big Blue culture!
