Great!

The no A.C. in the room was awful, especially because there was only one fan facing one of the beds. Other than that, absolutely perfect experience!!

Overall good but some personal touches needed

I felt as if it was as a bit of a factory, I understand it is a big diving school but I felt as if my instructor was bored of the same thing every day and wasn't particularly enthusiastic. I enjoyed the experience but had much higher expectations. I wanted more of a social and friendly vibe, and felt for example, that had I seen any staff outside of the hours they had to be with me, they wouldn't have said hello. This is not the same for all staff however, I was jealous of some of the other groups and their instructors! Would've been nice to have had a big group photo that was sent to us, things like that. Also, accommodation in the double private rooms was awful. No ventilation, loads of Mosquitos getting in from the bathroom and just generally the hottest room ever. I felt safe with Big Blue, but didn't find the overall experience that fun despite really enjoying the actual diving.

Brilliant time, friendly teachers

I will definitely be coming back. Our teacher was friendly and funny, the course was simple and the site sites were spectacular. I went to do my Open Water course and I would have stayed to take my Advanced if I'd had more time there.

The bar and restaurant have a good atmosphere too, with performers on the beach each evening.

The only downside was that on our last day they tried to sell us a DVD of our last dive for forty quid, and seemed very offended when we politely refused. There was a bit of unwanted pressure there.

Otherwise, an perfect trip.

P.S. Make sure you book a room with air con!

Great Time on Advanced Open Water Course

We did our PADI AOW course with Big Blue Diving and had a great time. The Bar and Restaurant is really great as was our instructor Tom who as well as being top class, is in possession of one fine head of hair! Would definitely recommend Big Blue Diving to a friend!

New Experience

I stayed in their hostel, Big Blue Diving for a total of 10 days. I did the course for Free Diving with instructor Rakel, she was great and the vibe of the place is very nice. I had a great time there, although the price for staying with them is cheap if you receive their courses, the price if you don't is expensive for what they offer. The instructors are very nice and had lots of fun.

One of the Best Experiences of my Life

Scuba Diving for the very first time, Big Blue made my time in Koh Tao one of the best experiences of my life. Only having a few days on the Island before the full moon party and leaving, they were very accommodating and managed to get me through the Open Water Course quickly and smoothly. I never felt out of my comfort zone while diving and was made to feel very welcome around the dive school. My instructor Mike Robb was excellent with us, very calm and clearly a natural teacher. I loved it so much that I changed my travelling plans and stayed after the full moon and completed the Advanced Course. The facilities were excellent and I was even lucky enough to dive alongside a Whale Shark. Would definitely recommend Big Blue to anyone and everyone. Thanks so much and hopefully I'll be back. Brilliant instructors and facilities

I went to ko tao to do my open water and ended up staying on 8 days there. The island itself is amazing but Big Blue was my main reason for staying. Hadn't planned to do advanced diver course but after two days convincing my friend we did it. Our instructor for the open water was Skui Dooby Doo, she was a fantastic instructor and proper funny too making the course really fun. She was ill for our advanced course so we joined another group with Jules and it was just as fun. I think all the instructors have the se mindset - wanting you to learn but at the same time have fun and make friends with the others on the course. Big Blue is really social with two bars on Sairee beach lots of young backpacker types but some older learners too who integrate just a easily. I thoroughly recommend diving on ko tao with Big Blue and staying on to do fun dives aswell as you get a 10% reduction on courses and dives after your open water.

Good but.....

Great experiance but a few comments-

Firstly we were slightly pushed to do SSI instead of PADI, the reasoning was all valid, including tht we wouldn't have to wait for our scuba diver cards, as you get them immediately with SSI, which appealed a lot as we were going diving elsewhere immediately so needed the cards. However our cards weren't ready in time and still haven't arrived (it's been 2 and a half months) which is slightly shocking considering this was a major selling point.

Our instructor was great but turned out to be a creep when we wet on a night out all together.

Personal, professional, memorable

Big Blue was unlike dive schools I have visited in the past. Each and every instructor and dive master would not simply throw you off a boat and point at some fish. Instead, they would talk to you in a personal manner while also giving dive briefs in a professional way to assure you that everything is planned and that safety is paramount. On top of this, Big Blue also has a fleet of well equipped diving boats with refreshments on board and spaces to keep belongings dry.

Also, the accommodation was faultless, my girlfriend and I found the room to be clean and well maintained. If enjoying food and drink is something that people require from a holiday then both Big Blue 1 and 2 bars serve good food and drinks and the friendly atmosphere around the bars in the evenings made the stay even more enjoyable.

All in all, Big Blue was an unforgettable dive school and I hope to return in the very near future.

Safe, friendly, fun

Fantastic diving school with fantastic instructors. Our instructor Luke was incredibly patient and encouraging, and clearly knowledgable about his trade. It was refreshing to go to a place where you felt included and valued, whatever your level of diving, and could enjoy the waters of Koh Tao knowing you would be kept safe. Thoroughly enjoyable experience and would definitely return.

Amazing dive at Big blue diving !!

I will start by saying that I had not really thought how diving is gonna feel before reaching the Big Blue School at Koh Tao. Turns out to be one of those life changing experiences one can have during one's lifetime.

I had the opportunity to go diving with Pal as my instructor. Pal is an amazing guy who gives his 100% into everything he does. I was very nervous before going inside the water but Pal was always cool and calm and always helping me out in whatever concerns I was having. I am thankful to him for being patient with me. Eventually we were able to go upto 11 mts below water and we spent a good 40 mins there !!

Thanks Pal thanks Big blue for making this possible for me. I couldnt have been able to do it without you.

Special thanks to SteveO and Scotty for referring me to this course.

Regards
