We were five people who had booked two rooms, one non-diver. Last minute my girlfriend, who dived, wanted to come along. I was supposed to stay with the non-diver but now I of course wanted a private room for me and my girlfriend. Even though Big Blue had spare rooms we were not allowed to rent it because a non-diver would stay in it by her self, even though the other five of us were diving and taking certificates. She was given the finger, big blue couldn't give us three rooms for the six of us even when five of us were diving. We had to send our non-diving friend away by her self to find a room somewhere else. This was after two days of exhausting travelling including the rough boattrip to koh tao where a lot of people puked.
The Big Blue staff might be smiling but they don't give a shit about you or your friend(s) if they're not diving. The relaxed service minded layed back "we fix"-mentality is gone, it's all about the money now.
I wrote a complaint to big blue. I got to speak with the manager. He said his staff was right to send my friend away but when I explained that six people of whom five were diving should be able to rent three rooms and choose our selves which of us would stays in which room, he said that he now understood, that I was right and that it was a shame we were leaving now. I did not get a refund even though they ruined the vacation for me and my friend. I was angry with them the whole week.
Big blue get a second star for f***ing us with a smile :)
Never ever Corporate Big Blue Diving ever again.
The vibe is gone. What happened with the cool "all about the diving" and chilling experience I got 2010. Wiped away by the cynical wave of capitalism.
