A sublime experience

Koh Tao is the perfect place to get lost and Big Blue is the perfect place to find yourself. From the instructors, to the general personnel, all of them are very professionals and lovely. The ammount of experiance thay they have and share is incredible. I have been there two times and my idea is keep going as much as I can. It feels so good to be there and dive with them that makes you think if you need a new approach to life! Thanks for all that you have given to me Big Blue!

Extremely Up Tight Instructir

Initially I was going to book and do the entire diving instructors coarses with Big Blue. Unfortunately Ant (our diving instructor) was extremely up tight and moody the entire time. On 2 separate occasions he completely verbally insulted our class. A few times he even threatened to cancel our dives when the current started pulling us away from the boat. Honestly Ant, I don't really care how many people you have certified I just really wish I had done my open water through MOJO..

Very Friendly and Informative

Very friendly, the instructors were great and there was a great community of people helping out, I did the open water course, advanced course and a free diving course. My favourite course was the free diving but all of them were amazing and all of the instructors were really helpful

Where my heart belongs

Amazing time.
Instructor was Ant 2, who was great. I'm not going to lie, within 20min in the pool I was not going to continue, but he got me through it and turns out I love it!
Group size was good, my friend and I got paired with some idiot who was solo so I wished the groups were a little more even, since there was a group of 2 German girls learning in German, I figured the idiot (happened to be German) should have been with them to make more even groups, but hey, if that's my biggest complaint then that says something.
Really though, even in shitty weather we had a great time.
It set me up to dive in Vietnam and Cambodia as well as this year Mexico so thank you deep blue!
Also, get some more shirts in! Ran out the day I was leaving ! Boo!!!
Lol great times though

Awesome experience

I did my open water course with Big Blue Diving and had an amazing time there. Great staff, a lot of nice people, a very social place, excellent teaching. Their teaching is great and they have their own boats leaving directly in front of the facility. Dorm beds are included in the rate and they are also very good. They even have a restaurant with very good food. I had a great time and can highly recommend Big Blue!

A whole new world

I had no intentions of scuba diving as I made my way to the island of Koh Toa with My partner whom was very keen on exploring the underwater world. However, after meeting with a reprensetive on the boat, and a couple of fellow travellers also heading to the island to scuba dive, my mind was miraculously changed! We arrived on the island and immediately checked in due to start our open water course the same day!
The next day we started our course in the pool with our instructor, Ant. Getting over my fear of breathing under water came apparent when I struggled to complete skills the rest of my team breezed through. I began to get worked up, frustated, upset and so angry with my self I was set to give the course up. Adamant I was never going to dive in the sea! Ant gave me a 5minute breather whilst he carried on with the rest of the team so not to slow them down as well. He then approached me with such a motivational, empowering speech that I ended up returning to the pool and to my team. If a stranger wasn't willing to give up on Me, then how could I give up on Myself. After finishing our day in the pool Ant invested a little extra time in me and we went through some skills again one on one ensuring I felt confident in them. I aced them all! I celebrated that night with a beer and an early night!
Day 3 of our course meant we was finally getting into the sea! After a team breakfast and brief we was knitted out ready to hit the open water. WOW!! What an experience, something I may never of experienced if My instructor had the same attitude I did. All my fears of the day before had evaporated as I frog kicked my self through the sea. I felt exhilarated as I went to bed that evening.
As we woke at 5am for the last day of diving I actually felt excited. One of the dive sites was a fun dive. That dive i became a confident mermaid 18metres below the surface!A phenomenal experience I will never ever forget!
I felt so emotional that evening as we dined one last time as a team, All different walks of life, different home countries and background stories. Not only had I qualified as a scuba diver, I had met some amazing people along the way.
Big Blue is a fantastic dive school. The accommodation was some of the best we had stayed in across Thailand, all staff were very helpful and friendly, the food never left us empty and it was amazing value for money!
I will be forever grateful to the rep for convincing me, my instructor for never giving up on me and the support from my fellow team mates.

Fantastic diving debut

Got my Open Water and Advanced Adventure Scuba Diving Certification at the Big Blue Diving School, Koh Tao. Enjoyed the experience there with the theoretical and practical teaching and safety standards. The staff were fun, friendly, accommodating but yet very professional. The location of the Dive resort is unbeatable. Its on the beach. The Beach Bar and Restaurant serves food and drink of good standard and quality. They got a wide range of equipment for diving out there. I had a great time learning how to dive out there with Big Blue. Cheers Guys.

awesome place to learn diving

i signed in for the open water course, we were 5 persons and our divemaster was alex who had help from dino - which was lucky to have two teacher, both super nice and funny and patient to explain us exactly what to do without freaking out under water. the divespots were awesome and the hostel is cool, too to hang out during the course. i can definately recommend it! (although i can only talk for off-season, i could imagine that due to the fact that its such a big school its a bit to crowdy in high season) Thanks for a great week!

Great dive centre

Great dive centre, both free diving and scuba diving. Very professional but still fun. They took the time to go through fish we were likely to see before the dive which was a really great addition.
