... but room for improvement.
We got lots of practice in big groups, everything was there, good teaching materials and of course a nice location. Experienced Course Directors to show us what's important and whats not - easygoing, positive and friendly.
BUT - we were a big group of IDC candidates, it would have been nice to practice certan things a bit more and to have more one-on-one sessions with the Course Directors. Some things could have been more organized and planned ahead. There was nothing missing, we got a good preparation, but it could have been more fun.
It's also not very nice to get prepard "just" for an Exam, nobody likes to get their questions answered with "you don't need to know that to pass the Exam". After all, it's called Instructor Developement Course and not Instructor Examination Preparation Course. I do realize the IDC is supposed to be a very short course and they already made it longer than necessary, so maybe that's just a flaw in the system.
Also, nobody liked the way the specialties were handled, many felt like they just paid for a signature and not for a course.
Like previously mentioned, a smaller group would have made the whole IDC a lot better, more individual, more informative and less exhausting for everybody - and it could have saved some people from failing their IE when it's clear they are not ready to take it yet.
