I started my PADI Divemaster course in April and took about 2 months to finish it. We had quite a few DMTs doing it at the same time, with people finishing and new people arriving every now and then. This must have been quite challenging to organise, but Andrea, who runs the DMT-program at Buddha View, did a fantastic job throughout.
We had a very professional schedule that was repeated every 2 weeks, so that everyone had the opportunity to do every workshop multiple times during their course. There were sensible breaks in between the workshops to make room for assisting with courses, doing fun dives and studying for the exam. Andrea was always available for questions and was very flexible and understanding when it came to injuries and problems. She even said we could just ask for a specific workshop the be scheduled on demand if we really needed it!
As for the workshops themselves, most of them were taught by Andrea and some were taught by Tim, another instructor who helped out with the program. We got great and comprehensive explanations for every workshop and practised every aspect of divemaster work either under supervision or via peer review together with the other DMTs. There was always detailed feedback on our performance with pointers towards areas that could use improvement (but even that was delivered in a very positive manner).
I really loved this course and think I got way more out of it than anyone could expect. Not only did I get a great education on how to be a divemaster, Andrea even sent advice when I was sick/injured, she hung out with us outside of the course, offered advice on where to buy equipment (and what) and gave tips about living on Koh Tao in general.
When I wanted to sign off, she basically started sending my info the second she had all the paperwork, despite being sick at the time (I could have waited, get some rest instead :-/ ) because I had a job lined up.
I was very impressed by the DMT program and would recommend it to everyone!
