Mid January and force 24 winds. Cold water, not enough neoprene so ended up wearing my wooly jumper and socks underneath the 5mm provided. (Hired entire kit) Luckily I brought a 2mm hooded vest, but my buddy who also booked 'entire kit' didn't and when she asked for a hood as she was cold was told she could buy one even though there was a bag of spare hoods on board. Full kit should include whatever is necessary for comfortable diving no matter what the weather. Found this in particular quite petty
Be sure to bring computer as you cannot dive without one and will be charged to hire one. (So no old school analogue table diving allowed. Also no depth gauges on hire regs so yr snookered on this front)
Ask if there's enough bedding as we were cold in our cabin and only 1 thin duvet available each
Thistlegorm got pulled from itinerary so was dissapointed but very little can be done about poor weather, (a bit more planning / foresight earlier in week to get to a sheltered site might have helped but hard to say)
No WiFi or signal for most of trip can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending....
Reef diving made up 80% and overall kinda boring with vary little in the way of big fish, viz was mostly good but last couple of dives were cloudy. Maybe reef colour is better at different times of year, but I'd not come here in winter again...
Crew (and food especially) were great though. Nice fellas.
