Superawesome experience!

Is was indeed an amazing experience underwater. The pre-dive training and care (, breakfast precautionary tablet, snacks) taken by Temple Adventures is definitely noteworthy. I thank the entire team!
P.s Akhil clicks good pics underwater. I was the unfortunate.

well managed adventure water sport

Good trainers and had a wonderfull time, one improvement is the boats can have.some sort of shelter to protect divers from sun on the head.

A safe, professional diving centre

All the family were impressed by the seriousness of the operation in Pondicherry, my 11 year old passed the PADI Junior Open Water certification and very much enjoyed the experience. Having done the PADI certification years ago my husband and I did a refresher and found ourselves completely in phase.

Great bunch of people

Did my Rescue + EFR with these guys, and the training was intense ! The instructor is an old school tough guy, and he really believes in making sure you know what you are doing, whether administering CPR ("if you're not breakin' bones, you're not doin' it right !") or how to help a panicked diver ("punch him if you have to").

Also a lot of fun after the serious stuff is over. They have some great dive sites down there, specially The Wall, that one could dive maybe 20 times. They are a full service facility for Scubapro as well, which was handy for a compass strap I needed.

All in all, given the constraints they operate in, a stellar dive operation.

Friendly service

I dived with Temple Adventures in November 2013 - due to relatively bad weather the dives were not great. However, I was very impressed by the friendly and professional service by the team working at the dive centre - and particularly became fond of their dog!

except for instructor everything else is top notch

before you jump to conclusions , let me clarify that 99% of the instructors are great and go out of the way to help you. but i was struct with the exception. as a result, the whole experience turned torrid and i lost the desire to dive again. but looking at it objectively now, i would say the experience was not bad. QUICK FACTS: aravind, rob & co run the place professionally. rules ,especially regarding safety, are strictly adhered to. the place is friendly, kind of like a large group of friends and everyone knows everyone else. formalities are dispensed with and customers voluntarily chip in to carry stuff. but the visibility is not good because of planktons. so don't expect any screensaver type scenery. on the upside, planktons means mantas and sharks, though i didn't see any. HEADSUP: if you are an inexperienced diver you will probably puke on the boat;

Good place for first time divers

The facilitators & trainers at this place are so friendly that we lost all our apprehensions about our first Discover Scuba Dive. They took extreme care for our safety but we did not miss out on the fun part too. Rob, Akhil, Alex and others were brilliant as a team and we had a great time during our boat ride [minus the sea sickness factor :( ] and the dive.

Great Team To Have Great Fun

Rob and his Team did a great job when I went there to dive without much experience in diving. I really felt comfortable diving with them and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks!

An honest account of my experiences with Temple Adventures

I have visited Temple Adventures only twice so please keep that in mind while reading this review.

The first time was in June, 2013. I had done an Open Water Course with three friends of mine. This was my first attempt at diving. The experience was amazing! Left me speechless. So what made Temple Adventures so good? I came to learn scuba diving. To learn effectively you need good teachers. Trust me, the instructors over there are excellent. They ensured that I completed everything properly in a smiling and patient manner. My instructors were Aravind and Akhil. They created a rich and lively atmosphere. During each of the dives in the ocean, we saw at least 10 different varieties of fish. Visibility varied with each dive (max 15-20 m). Being open water divers, we were not allowed to go to the more exciting deep sites! (I will go one day). The divers with temple adventures are always so enthusiastic and happy that it just infects you instantly making your dive experience all the more better! Rob (great guy, fun to dive with!) and Jonah (who mysteriously got me to overcome my sea sickness) accompanied us on a couple of our dives.

I was so impressed with them, that I gathered 10 of my friends (now thats a pretty large group) and convinced them to join me for my next dive in Pondy. They all did the Discover Scuba Diving Course while I did my fun dive. Most unfortunately, diving in the sea was called off owing to rough weather (Jan 4th, 2014). We were left with no choice (since all 10 couldn't come back another time) but to choose their Quarry site for diving. My friends were disappointed but after diving, they did enjoy themselves. A few of my friends want to go back and do the open water course (evidently, they were jealous that I got to do the fun dives and at greater depths!). For certified divers, I would most certainly not recommend the Quarry Dive Site. We were told that we would see some turtles, and were greatly disappointed when we didn't see even one. All we saw were some kind of small fish.

Since I have seen only a few of their dive sites, it would not be appropriate for me to comment on them. Though I have heard a lot of positive comments on Aravind's Wall (30 m). When it comes to learning how to scuba dive, I would give them 10 out of 10. To me thats what matters.

So what's the verdict? Possibly one of the best places to begin scuba diving! And yes, I would recommend dives in the ocean to my friends. :)

The temple adventures team focuses on making their students good divers and not just fun divers. They are serious when it comes to matters of safety and good dive ethics, and yet have fun!

Discover scuba in pondicherry

Great Temple Adventures put Scuba diving on the map of Pondicherry !

The course is laid back and good with friendly, capable instructors. The pool work was done pretty far away , it s hoped that they find a pool to work in close by.

The open water dives are off the coast of pondicherry to one of their dive sites , if the sea is too rough they l use the granite mines

At this instant the sea was rough and my old medical problem (a head injury) played up and i had to abort my open water dives, so i could not finish my PADI

I successfully completed the written test and the first 2 days .

Kindly enough Temple Bay gave me a paper as proof that i did so.

With this i was able to do some dives this summer in Micronesia (calm lagoons and amazing WW II wrecks that become amazing artificial reefs)

I still need a dive with their dive master to complete my padi, which i hope to do this spring !

For me a 4 star ! Lisbeth Nusselein

Excellent Diving experience at T.A

Hi,

We have been to Pondy last month and scuba diving was heart of our program. We had high expectations on this. Diving with Temple adventures exceeded our expectations. They are very patient, very friendly and skilled people. We had basic diving. We are looking forward.
